Super Mario 64 Surge – You Can Play Now in a Web Browser

If you’re a Super Mario 64 surge fan, there’s a good chance you’ll be delighted to hear. That you can now play Nintendo’s iconic 64 platformers. Super Mario 64, in a web browser on any location. Which of your devices Super Mario 64 runs on a browser compatible with Apple devices and the Xbox Edge browser. It is basically the result of a GitHub project called “Super Mario 64 Surge”.

The game was first spotted in April of this year and has been online for several months. However, it could be retired by Nintendo in the future, if it isn’t already. At the time of writing, the game is working fine, and you can play it right here.

Once you open the game in a browser on your Mac. A drop-down instruction card will appear informing you about the title’s controls and features. So, according to the instruction card, you can start the game by clicking the enter key on your keyboard. And choose a safe location to start playing. You can also save your progress in these locations,

However, it is important to note. That you will need to connect a compatible controller to play the game on your devices. So if you start a game on your iPhone, you can pair an Xbox, PlayStation, or MFi controller with your iOS device.

Since I don’t have a compatible controller at the moment, I tried Super Mario 64 on my MacBook Pro. The game, in my experience, worked perfectly well with smooth animations, and fun gameplay. However, it should be mentioned that the keyboard controls are a bit different from the old Nintendo 64 buttons. For example, the A button has been assigned to X and the B button is the C button on the keyboard.

A Little Nostalgia


The game appears to be the full version of the original Nintendo 64 title and works great on Apple devices. For those unaware, Super Mario 64 was originally released by Nintendo in 1996. And it was the first Super Mario game to feature 3D gameplay. The company even reissued the title on Nintendo DS in 2004 and Nintendo Switch last year.
