Stand with Texas
The world is currently watching and praying for those in Texas that are having to deal with Tropical Storm Harvey. As we sit and watch the ongoing battle, many have begun to wonder the best way to help those affected. Here’s everything you need to know!
Earlier today, Texas’s Governor Greg Abbott held a press conference updating the world on the latest relief efforts for residents. Abbott direct those that want to help, but are not in the area, to donate anything they could afford to the Red Cross. When making a donation Abbott told listeners around the world to note that they would like to direct their donation to support those in the ongoing crisis in Texas. The Red Cross is mobilizing any and all resources they can place in the area, and a significant financial backing would allow for more critical supplies, such as food, water, blankets, and emergency medical supplies, to be brought into the area.
If you are interested in donating, there are a number of ways to contribute to the relief effort. For those on an Apple device, Apple is accepting donations through the front page on the iTunes and App store. It takes less than a minute and your contribution could help save a life. If you are not on an Apple device, visit redcross.org or call 1-800-RED-CROSS to make a donation. If you receive a phone call asking for a donation, do not make any contribution as it could be a fraudulent call and the identity of the caller(s) cannot be identified.
This is not a time to make political arguments or debates, it is a time to help save those that are losing their lives right in front of them. Modern day technology is saving the lives of those still trapped, enhancing search and rescue efforts, and will hopefully increase rebuilding with financial donations.
Please share this article with friends and family to spread the word about a natural disaster that will affect millions upon millions of lives. Our prayers go out to those that are still trapped, and to anyone effected by Hurricane Harvey. Stay strong America!
