Recently Tesla CEO Elon Musk has showed off his progress with his new start-up, The Boring Company. Musk shared several pictures and videos, on his various social media accounts, documenting the progress that has already been made.
Musk explained that digging had begun under Los Angeles, and the first full length tunnel with run from LAX to Culver City, Santa Monica, Westwood, and Sherman Oaks, all cities within the greater Southern California area. Musk also stated plans of future tunnels that covered the entire LA area. Now, how will these tunnels withstand earthquakes and local tremors? Musk replied to a user on Twitter and said that the tunnels will be earthquake proof, what that entails is still unknown. A video (linked below) of the sled that cars would travel on, would allow for speeds of up to 120 MPH, making a trip from Westwood to LAX, in about 5 minutes. -----BE WARNED THE VIDEO MAY CAUSE MOTION SICKNESS AND/OR SEIZURES-----

Many have said the company is nothing more than a joke started on Twitter by Musk back in December, but it looks to be the exact opposite. Once these tunnels are fully built, inspected, and start to be used, the community will then know if the plan pans out. The idea of skipping all of that traffic does sound nice, however, motion sickness and other potential health issues may turn users away. Definitely keep your eye on new news in the near future, as Musk, Tesla, Solar City, Space X, and The Boring Company will be sure to turn heads with what they have planned next.
