Netflix Finally Allows Users to Download Shows for Offline Use

For years, Netflix has lacked a single feature that users have requested since the service launched. Now, Netflix has finally listened to its customers and has added the one major feature their service was missing.

On November 30, Netflix announced that it will be rolling out the feature of being able to download episodes for watching offline, FOR NO ADDITIONAL COST. The media streaming service made a post on their blog stating,

“While many members enjoy watching Netflix at home, we’ve often heard they also want to continue their Stranger Things binge while on airplanes and other places where Internet is expensive or limited. Just click the download button on the details page for a film or TV series and you can watch it later without an internet connection.”

The first thing users will need to do to use the new feature will be to update their Netflix application to the latest publicly available version. Once the application is up to date, users can look for the download icon (pictured beside) next to their favorite shows. Netflix has not stated whether their entire catalog will be available to download or only certain shows, but have acknowledged that more money is on the way towards the new feature.
